Bruce BISHOP
Experience Ambassador
The travel bug bit Bruce during a trip to Spain when he was 16. Thanks to an equal passion for writing, he sold his first travel article in 1994, and since then he has journeyed the world, writing guidebooks and countless stories. Today he’s content as a novelist of page-turning family sagas set in 20th century Nova Scotia. The province has been his home for 40 years, with Toronto as a 'second' home.

Aisle - slightly claustrophobic
I like to write at quiet outdoor cafes in the summer months, preferably The Henry House on Barrington Street, or Bistro by Liz on South Park Street.
Strolling along the Halifax waterfront with my best friend, or discovering a new cove to take photos that we haven't yet visited.
Imodium! Also new tunes to listen on my MP3 player.
...what it's like to eat steamed lobster in the shell, while wearing a ridiculous plastic bib (but you'll be happy you did both)... Allergic to shellfish? Sample some Nova Scotian wines, beers or ciders with a French Acadian dish - maybe Rappie Pie?
Polynesia and New Zealand
I'm privileged and proud to be a Nova Scotian. I take delight in offering a hospitable welcome and a fun visit to all who are lucky to venture to our shores!
