IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON

Geaux Saints! Roll Wave! Geaux Tigers! (Geaux is pronounced “GO”, just in case you didn’t know). Whether you’re a supporter of the New Orleans Saints, the Tulane Green Wave, or the Baton Rouge LSU Tigers (or many of the amazing local high-school teams), New Orleans restaurants, bars and hotel lobbies are more than happy to accommodate your tailgating and arm-chair quarterback needs with flat-screen TVs playing everywhere. And, I’m happy to say that as a city, although we’re outrageously dedicated to the sport, we’re pretty accommodating if you aren’t cheering for one of the home-town favorites. Last year, while we were in the Mercedes Benz Superdome sitting beside a bachelor party supporting the Washington Redskins (team jersey’s and all), they expressed relief at how kind, friendly and fun our fans were – high fives on the streets, ‘good game’ comments, and toasts to the victor. No team rivalry brawls or harassment here! This year, with the Saint’s steamrolling toward another Super Bowl victory, it’s great to know that the Who Dat Nation is celebrated for our respectful sportsman-like conduct on, and off, the field!
